Under these new regulations, both importers and manufacturers are obliged to comply with with the European import energy efficiency requirements, including standby mode operations and energy rating labeling. This alignment with European import energy efficiency requirements is crucial for obtaining the necessary energy permits for products destined for the Israeli market.

Key Requirements of the New Reform

As part of these regulatory changes, entities involved in the importation of electrical products must navigate the import process through what is termed the "European Declaration". This entails a two-fold submission process:

1. ‍Submission of an Application Form for an Energy Certificate: Importers must submit an application form to obtain an energy certificate for their products.
2. ‍Commitment to Product Identity and Compliance: Alongside the application, importers must provide a commitment that the product for which the certificate is requested is identical to the one detailed in the accompanying documents. This also includes documentation demonstrating conformity with European regulations and standards, and an energy rating label that corresponds to the energy efficiency level of the device.
