European Union Updates List of Harmonized Standards to Toys Safety Directive

According to Article 13 of Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council “on the safety of toys (TSD)”, when a toy meets the requirements of a harmonised standard that is referred to the Union harmonisation legislation that is indicated in the Official Journal of the European Union, the toy is considered to meet the essential requirements of the Directive 2009/48/EC.

Up to the end of May 2021, the harmonised standards for toys drafted in support of Directive 2009/48/EC were indicated in the Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1728.
